Hana El-Gallal

Hana El-Gallal is a Researcher at the Center for Strategic Studies, Univeresity of Jordan, and was a law professor at Benghazi University. Hana was a founding member of the National Libyan Council of General Freedoms and Human Rights, and the Libyan Center for Development and Human Rights. In 2011, Hana became the Minister of Education for the Libyan Transitional Government and during this time was a member of committees on gender based violence and constitutions, and co-founded the Media and Communication Committee of the Libyan National Transitional Council. She has published writing on torture, terrorism, freedom of religion and youth economic empowerment. Prior to 2011, Hana was a legal consultant, professor and also served as the national officer for UNODC’s juvenile justice project in Libya.
