For the past 3 years Beyond Borders has been working on tackling human trafficking and modern slavery, through the Rule of Law capacity building projects.
The specific aims of the work stream are bespoke to the country we are working with, however they can broadly be summed up as below:
Beyond Borders Scotland has active partnerships across all fields working together to tackle human trafficking; from first responders, law enforcement, victim support and prosecution/judiciary. This includes Borderforce UK, Gangmasters Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA), Metropolitan Police, Police Scotland, National Crime Agency (NCA), Salvation Army, Unseen UK, Human Trafficking Foundation, the Judicial Council, the Sentencing Council of England and Wales and a number of barristers’ chambers including prominent QCs.
