Dr Olha Nykorak has been coordinating the Human Security Programme at the Heinrich Böll Foundation – Kyiv Office since September 2023. Her work focuses on promoting human security in Ukrainian and global discourse and raising the visibility of Ukraine’s vision in European and transatlantic security debates.
Olha has worked as a policy advisor to a member of the Ukrainian Parliament, as an analyst at the Lviv Center of International Law and Human Rights, and as a project and programme manager at the Ukrainian Catholic University and Internews Baltia. She is an alumna of the German Marshall Fund’s Policy Designers Network and the ReThink.CEE 2022 programme.
Olha Nykorak was a Kolasky Visiting Researcher at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (University of Alberta) and a Re:Constitution Fellow 2025/2026. She holds a PhD in Law and is a member of the International Society of Public Law. Previously, she was a research fellow at the College of Europe in Natolin, a visiting researcher at the University of Warsaw (Eastern European Studies Programme) and the University of Graz (Department of Foundations of Law). She studied international public law at the University of Tartu and completed a postgraduate programme in strategic communications at the Sympodium Institute.
