Najd is a Human Rights Lawyer with 12 years of experience leading gender justice work in conflict-affected countries across the SWANA region and in Africa. She has supported grassroots feminist and women-led organisations in addressing the gendered impact of conflict. Najd worked with UN agencies to promote gender-transformative policies and programmes, drawing on her legal expertise and feminist knowledge. She also has experience supporting governments in developing national action plans on WPS that centre women’s-led civil society organisations. She has led WPS trainings with the military and law enforcement in Jordan.

Najd is from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She was in the first cohort of Saudi women who graduated from law school. Despite not being allowed to practice law due to her gender, she continued to develop her skills, as she is committed to supporting women’s rights in Saudi Arabia and the region, and she obtained her master’s in International Human Rights Law from Northwestern University.
