Ghadir Taira is a freelance journalist, media producer, and dedicated feminist activist from Al-Hudaydah, Yemen, widely recognized for her steadfast focus on the Tihami cause and utilizing media to advocate for the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda. Amid the complexities of the Yemeni context, she transforms creative vision into tangible community impact as the Co-Founder of the Women Impact platform and the Green Voices Network for Arab Youth. Ghadir serves as the Program Manager at the Yemen Platform—an independent, English-speaking platform reshaping Yemen’s narrative through authentic, on-the-ground storytelling—and acts as an Executive Committee Member of LOYAC Yemen (a branch of the Kuwait-based non-profit dedicated to youth and women empowerment), alongside her role as a Local Producer for the global agency Storytailors.tv.

Her strategic leadership and grassroots peacebuilding expertise are anchored in a solid professional trajectory. She is a Fellow in the Hikma Fellowship for Public Leadership, an alumna of the SAWT Fellowship (2023) at the Asfari Institute within the American University of Beirut (AUB), and the Aflamuna Fellowship (2022-2023) for impact producers. Active in high-level advocacy, she is an influential member of the Women’s Solidarity Network and the second cohort of the “Strengthening the Feminist Movement in Yemen” project, and has represented Yemen’s civil society at international platforms including the UN Climate Change Conferences. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Mass of Media – Public Relations and Advertising, Ghadir leverages her expertise in media consultation, script development, and documentary filmmaking to challenge restrictive narratives, utilizing visual media not just as passive documentation, but as an active mechanism for community mediation and localized peacebuilding.
