Larisa W Chikanya is a Zimbabwean feminist researcher and peacebuilding practitioner with over seven years of experience working at the intersection of conflict documentation, transitional justice, conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), and gender-responsive advocacy across Southern, Central, and East Africa. She currently serves as Advocacy Task Force and Early Warning Analyst at Genocide Watch, where she produces conflict and atrocity risk assessment reports focused on gender-sensitive early warning analysis across the Horn of Africa, Great Lakes, and broader East, Central, and Southern African regions. Her work is grounded in the Women, Peace and Security agenda, centering women’s meaningful participation in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, accountability, and recovery. Larisa is also a member of FemWise-Africa, the Network of African Women in Conflict Prevention and Mediation, a mechanism of the African Union under the Panel of the Wise.
