Reem Ghassan is an Iraqi human rights defender, peacebuilding practitioner, researcher, and trainer with extensive experience in the Women, Peace and Security agenda, transitional justice, and community-led peacebuilding. She currently serves as Women Program Manager at Peace and Freedom Organization (PFO), leading initiatives that strengthen women’s participation, social justice, and inclusive peace processes.

Her work focuses on supporting women, youth, survivors, and marginalized communities to engage in dialogue, advocacy, and decision-making processes. Reem has designed and delivered trainings on WPS, peacebuilding, and transformative change for civil society actors and governmental institutions, with a particular focus on promoting meaningful participation and addressing unequal power dynamics in conflict-affected contexts.
